ALAA MAYSSARA LEADS THE WAY WITH A BIG TOUR GRAND PRIX WIN IN SOMA BAY

The shores of the Red Sea provided a stunning backdrop for the Egypt Equestrian Cup, concluding this afternoon in the picturesque resort of Soma Bay.

Organised by the Egyptian Equestrian Federation in collaboration with RMC Worldwide, the event brought together more than 150 horse and rider combinations for a weekend of top-tier sporting action. Supported by prestigious sponsors including Jeep, Alfa Romeo, and the Commercial International Bank, the show was held in partnership with our magazine, serving as an official media partner for the occasion.

The competition reached its peak with the Grand Prix events where Egypt’s finest talents vied for a share of the 1,000,000 Egyptian Pound prize fund (approximately $20,000). In the Small Tour Grand Prix, Abdullah Haytham took the top spot riding Obelisk, followed by Fagr Mostafa on Viva La Diva in second and Yassin Elbasuony on Kubertha in third. The Medium Tour saw Lilly Hassan claim a win on Demi, with Abdullah Haytham securing another podium finish in second on Consagros, and Ismail Osama El Boraie taking third with Montgomery.

The highlight of the weekend, the Big Tour Grand Prix, saw a popular victory for home rider Alaa Mayssara who delivered a masterful performance on Pacini to take first place. Ismail Osama El Boraie followed closely in second riding Kadoky, while Seef ElDin Essam Abbas rounded out the top three on CM Quintana.

The courses, which tested the agility and precision of every combination, were expertly crafted by Egypt’s renowned international course designer, Ahmed Talaat.
