EQUESTRIAN AT THE DAKAR 2026 YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES

Media accreditation now open for Dakar 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games is now open. The accreditation period began on 13 April and will run until 12 June.

The Summer Youth Olympic Games 2026 will take place from 31 October to 13 November in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, marking the first Olympic sporting event ever held in Africa.

Media accreditation:

Media representatives wishing to cover the Dakar 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games are invited to submit their accreditation applications through the Media Registration Portal established by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The registration is open for rights -holding and non -rights holding media, written press and photographers.

This detailed IOC media kit provides comprehensive information on accreditation, as well as

entry visas;

accommodation;

transport;

media facilities and services;

the schedule of IOC media events;

Olympic Information Service (OIS); and

key contacts.

It also includes a map and the competition schedule by session and venue.

Equestrian at the Dakar 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games:

Equestrian at the Dakar 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games will feature the discipline of Jumping with competitions scheduled to take place on 3, 5, and 6 November at the Equestrian Centre of the Diamniadio cluster.

A total of 24 athlete-and-horse combinations will compete in Equestrian. The event is open to athletes aged up to 17 years old.

In a unique format, athletes will ride borrowed horses provided by the Organising Committee and assigned by random draw. To help build a partnership, athletes are given three training days, as well as an Official Training Session held outside the official programme.

The competition is conducted under FEI rules.

The Dakar 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games will mark a historic celebration of sporting excellence on the African continent, and we look forward to unforgettable equestrian competitions conducted in the spirit of fair play, with horse welfare at their core.
