FEI BOARD ALLOCATES KEY FINALS AND CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR 2027 AND 2028
Take a look at where these major events will be staged...
The FEI World Cup™ Finals are to return to Gothenburg in 2027, with the Swedish city set to extend its long association with equestrian sport’s biggest annual event.
Gothenburg’s Scandinavium Arena staged the first FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final in 1979 and played host to the inaugural FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final 10 years later in 1989. In 2027, the city will welcome the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final, the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final and the FEI Vaulting World Cup™ Final.
The 2027 Finals will be held 50 years after the first Gothenburg Horse Show in 1977.
Meanwhile, the FEI Driving World Cup™ Finals 2027 and 2028 will be staged in Bordeaux (FRA).
The FEI Board confirmed the hosts for these events at its monthly teleconference, with the FEI European Championships 2027 for five disciplines also allocated.
The FEI Jumping European Championships 2027 were awarded to Waregem (BEL) and the FEI Dressage and Para Dressage Championships 2027 to Randboel (DEN). The FEI Vaulting European Championship 2027 will take place in Verolanuova (ITA), while the FEI Driving European Championships for Four-in-Hand 2027 will be staged in Baborowko (POL).
HOSTORICAL VENUE
FEI President Ingmar De Vos said: “The allocation of major FEI Finals and Championships for 2027 and 2028 is very good news and demonstrates a healthy interest in hosting major FEI events.
“We are very happy to return to a historical venue such as Gothenburg, which has hosted the FEI World Cup Finals in Jumping and Dressage on multiple occasions and has a proven record of excellence at the Scandinavium Arena. In 2027 the Gothenburg Horse Show will be celebrating its 50th anniversary and it will be a memorable occasion since an FEI Vaulting World Cup Final will be organised in Sweden for the first time.”
EXCELLENT FACILITIES
Mr De Vos added: “The FEI Jumping European Championships in Waregem as well as the FEI Dressage and Para Dressage Championships in Randboel will be central to the FEI calendar for 2027 as the participating NFs will have the opportunity to earn quota places for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“Bordeaux has organised the FEI Driving World Cup Final 10 times and I am confident it will be up to the usual high standard providing excellent facilities, excitement and competitive spirit.
“I would like to thank all the Organisers and National Federations for their support in the organisation of these key events. We are looking forward to close and productive cooperation in the coming years.”
The allocation of the FEI Eventing European Championship 2027 is scheduled for the in-person FEI Board meeting in June 2025, while the FEI Endurance European Championship 2027 will be allocated in the autumn of 2025.
