MOROCCO BEATS THE UNITED STATES AND QUALIFIES FOR THE FINAL OF THE 5TH MOHAMMED VI INTERNATIONAL POLO TROPHY
The Moroccan Polo team defeated its counterpart from the USA by a score of 8 to 5 on Wednesday the 21st of May at PGH La Palmeraie Polo Club in Assilah, to qualify for the final against Egypt in the 5th edition of the Mohammed VI International Trophy, organised by the Royal Moroccan Polo Federation.
The Moroccan team, composed of Sidi Mohamed Elmhamdi, Zouhair Lachgar, Moulay Abdeslame El Hanafi, Mario Gomez and Zaki Bouslikhan, beat their counterparts from the United Kingdom in their opening match on Monday by a score of 8.5 to 4.
The final takes place on Sunday the 25th of May, this international sporting event brings together eight teams from Morocco, United Kingdom, Egypt, the United States, Oman, Azerbaijan, Spain and France.
Beyond its sporting significance, the Mohammed VI International Polo Trophy embodies the Kingdom of Morocco's ambition to promote the sport of polo and highlight the excellence of Moroccan sports infrastructure at the international level, while strengthening ties of friendship with the participating nations.
