ANOTHER TOP THREE TAKE FOR THE IRISH AT THE TOWNSHIP PLANNING + DESIGN CUP AT SPRUCE MEADOWS

It was another podium-sweeping day for the Irish at Spruce Meadows. World #15 ranked rider Conor Swail (IRL) completed his first 5* victory gallop of the season aboard One Edition. The pair posted a clear jump-off round with a time of 41.73s - just less than one tenth of a second faster than Darragh Kenny (IRL) and Lightning. Kenny rounded out the podium aboard his mount Diaroubet.

FEI Course Designer Peter Grant’s (CAN) track for Saturday’s competition featured 12 obstacles (15 jumping efforts). Fourteen horses jumped the clear in the first round and advanced to the jump-off.

FIRST-TIME WIN FOR GRACE DEFOE:

Grace DeFoe of the United States celebrated in the winner’s circle on her first visit to Spruce Meadows. The 19-year-old was all smiles after besting some of the greats of the sport aboard HH Medarco PS.

After an 11-horse jump-off, the pair posted a clear jump-off ride with a time of 42.40s, to claim victory in The French Family Cup.
