In a high-stakes display of equestrian excellence, veteran Belgian showjumping rider Jan Vermeiren won the FEI Jumping World Cup class at CSI5*-W Riyadh at the fifth edition of the Jump Saudi on Friday 19 December.
The class featured prize money exceeding 305,000 euros serves as a critical fixture for those seeking qualification for the prestigious FEI Jumping World Cup Final in the USA in 2026.
Vermeiren secured the top spot with a precise, record-breaking time of 43.51 seconds in the jump-off. The class remained competitive until the final moments, highlighted by a great performances from Saudi talents Khaled Almobty who secured second place in 43.96 seconds and Abdulrahman Alrajhi taking third place in 45.37s.
The Grand Prix on Saturday 20 December Grand Prix was won by Almobty, followed again by Alrajhi, with Christopher Kläsener in third place.
