British Eventing released an update yesterday, Oct. 26, stating that British Olympian William Fox-Pitt is now awake after his head injury sustained Oct. 17.
“William has made progress over the weekend; today he is conscious, breathing on his own and communicating with his family and doctors, however he is still very ill,” stated British Eventing. “He and his family are very grateful for all the support and messages; it is hugely appreciated.”
Fox-Pitt, 46, has been hospitalized since falling on cross-country in the 7-year-old class at Le Lion d’Angers CCI** on Oct. 17. Fox-Pitt fell with Reinstated at fence 20, an owl hole, and the horse was uninjured in the fall.
