GCL 2026: MID-SEASON TRANSFER WINDOW CLOSES AS TEAMS RESHAPE FOR CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWDOWN

Following an action-packed opening eight stages of the season, team managers have once again embraced the unique transfer window that makes GCL unlike any other equestrian series. Strategic signings, tactical reshuffles and fresh partnerships could prove pivotal as the battle for the coveted GCL Championship reaches its most intense phase.

Valkenswaard United: Sandra Auffarth joins the squad, replacing Lorenzo De Luca as the three time GCL champions Valkenswaard United strengthen for the second half of the season.

New York Empire powered by Lugano: Mark Mcauley comes into to the Empire line up as they look to climb the ranking, taking Team Owner Georgina Bloomberg’s spot while she cheeers on her squad.

Riesenbeck International powered by HorseGym: Championship leaders Riesenbeck have opted for a strategic change despite sitting at the top of the standings, welcoming Philipp Schulze Topphoff in place of Emanuele Camilli as they look to maintain their advantage heading into the decisive stages of the season.

Monaco Aces: Greek talent Ioli Mytilineou swaps into the Monaco line-up, replacing Mariano Martínez Bastida.

St Tropez Pirates: Swedish rider Antonia Pettersson Häggström joins the Pirates, taking over from Kaitlin Campbell.

Cairo Pharaohs: One of the busiest teams in the window, the Pharaohs make three additions with Sameh El Dahan, Vani Khosla and Zayna Rizvi joining the squad, while Ismael El Borai, Ines Joly and Dalma Malhas move on.

Doha Falcons: Home rider Bassem Mohammed returns to strengthen the Falcons, replacing Jessica Mendoza.

Riyadh Knights: A double signing sees Gudrun Patteet and Pilar Cordón arrive, with Rodrigo Almeida and Mathijs van Asten departing.

Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames: Ines Joly joins the previous GCL champions, replacing Janne-Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann.

Basel Cosmopolitans powered by Les Trois Rois: Irish star Harry Allen comes into the squad as Géraldine Straumann steps aside for the second half of the season.

Rome Gladiators: Alexandra Amar joins the Gladiators, replacing Ioli Mytilineou.

Scandinavian Vikings: Norwegian rider Johan-Sebastian Gulliksen returns to the Vikings line-up, replacing Susan Fitzpatrick as the team looks to make a strong push through the second half of the championship.

Notably, only two riders make direct moves between GCL teams during this year's transfer window. Ioli Mytilineou switches from the Rome Gladiators to the Monaco Aces, while Ines Joly leaves the Cairo Pharaohs to join the Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames, bringing valuable championship experience to their new teams.
