ALLTECH FEI WORLD EQUESTRIAN GAMES™ 2014 IN NORMANDY TO BE BROADCAST IN OVER 200 TERRITORIES WORLDWIDE

Television coverage of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 will be broadcast in more than 200 territories worldwide, conveying the drama and excitement of equestrian sport as well as the picture-postcard setting of host region Normandy to a truly global audience. Official Sponsor France Televisions and Media Partner Equidia Life will provide French viewers with an unprecedented level of broadcast coverage of the biggest sporting event in France this year.

Internationally, public broadcasters from more than 10 European countries, including Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland, have confirmed their plans for the 23 August - 7 September event. Further coverage with an attractive mix of live, broadcast delay and highlights programming, will be provided by additional channels and networks from around the globe, spanning Canada to New Zealand, Malaysia to South America and the Middle East to China, Mexico and the United States.

Pan-European channel Eurosport will show the Games in 20 languages across its continental broadcast footprint. FEI TV, the FEI’s official video website, will live-stream high quality coverage of the entire event, with daily English-language commentary from more than 30 equestrian experts at www.feitv.org. In addition, the FEI’s daily talk-show, hosting a colourful selection of athletes, coaches and celebrities from the equestrian world will be available via FEI TV and other websites, including the official event portal www.normandy2014.com, that will also offer regular clips from the Games in Normandy.

In France, France Télévisions, Official Sponsor, will offer the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy extensive coverage, mixing daily live broadcasting on France 3, as well as a complete digital offer on francetvsport.fr and France TV Sport applications. France 3 will shine the spotlight on every discipline, from 3pm during the week and from 3:20pm on weekends. These live broadcasts will be presented by journalists Nelson Monfort, with Christian Choupin and Virginie Coupérie commentating on the disciplines, along with two special guests: Guillaume Canet and Jean Rochefort. France Télévisions will also offer a follow-up to the competitions on their news programmes and their sports magazine, notably including Stade 2 (produced and directed live from Caen on August 31 for a special show at the heart of the Games) and Tout le Sport, as well as the dedicated website.

Equidia Life, France’s leading equestrian media outlet and Media Partner to the event will be broadcasting live throughout the Games. 18-million households have access to the channel, which promises to keep its 5-million viewers informed during approximately 150 hours of live coverage. Along with Kamel Boudra and Pascal Boutreau, a team of 20 people will be on site to share the thrills and emotion over a fortnight of absolutely top-class sport. Two daily shows will be broadcast from a TV screen installed in the Games Village: Le Grand Direct, from 9am to 8pm, with commentary from the very best consultants, such as Michel Robert; and Le Grand Soir, from 8pm to 9pm, which will feature a debate and debriefing. Coverage of the opening ceremony will be broadcast on Saturday 23 August at 20:30pm. Equidia Life will also feature live coverage of all the competitions on their website equidia.fr, which is also available via the smartphone application Equidia.

About the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy:

Organised every four years in the middle of the Olympic cycle, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ are the largest equestrian event in the world. Over a fortnight, from 23 August to 7 September 2014, the event will offer on-site spectators and global television audiences the equivalent of eight world championships in the Olympic disciplines of Jumping, Eventing and Dressage, the Paralympic discipline of Para-Equestrian Dressage as well as Endurance, Vaulting, Reining and Driving. Additionally, the Games in Normandy will host two demonstration sports, Polo and Horse-ball.

Two years before the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy will showcase the best of equestrian sport to an expected 500,000 spectators. Elite athletes, superb venues, thrilling competition and record participation (76 nations represented and nearly 1,000 horses and athletes), the Games are set to offer a unique spectator experience.

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy will open the way in France to other prestigious sporting events: Euro Football 2016, the Handball Worlds 2017 and the Ryder Cup 2018.
