LONGINES PARIS EIFFEL JUMPING 4TH EDITION: THE COUNTDOWN HAS STARTED!

The 4th edition of the Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping, 5* show jumping competition and milestone of the Longines Global Champions Tour, will be back at the Champ de Mars, its historical location, on the 30th of June, 1st and 2nd of July 2017. Once again, the event will celebrating sports, nature, art and conviviality.

This Parisian step of the prestigious Longines Global Champions will put the horse at the heart of the capital, welcoming the best horse-riders in the world and horse lovers from everywhere. Virginie Coupérie-Eiffel, President and founder of the event, is thankful and delighted of the presence of Longines, the historical support of the event since its beginning, as the title partner of this fourth edition.

In July, the Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping 2016 cheered off the French riders on their way to Rio. Pénélope Leprévost, Kevin Staut, Roger Yves Bost and Philippe Rozier, crowned with this amazing Olympic gold medal, will return as heroes to the Champ du Mars in 2017. This year’s edition will be particularly important as it is one of the last major sports events to be held in Paris just 2 months before the IOC elects the host city for the 2024 Summer Olympic.

Three days of intense competition

On Friday, there will be the High Jump Record, with 2m05 to beat ! On Saturday, Rolf Göran Bengstson and his faithful stallion Casall ASK will defend their title in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix. Be prepared to support as well Paris Panthers, represented by international young and talented riders such as Darragh Kenny, Nayel Nassar, Jack Towell, Jennifer Gates and Lillie Keenan, during the second edition of the Global Champions League, a brand new five-star show jumping. Finally, on Sunday, the Eiffel Challenges’ finals will reveal the names of the CSI1*champions of this 3 days’ competition.

A real festival around horses

While the sporting side of Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping is world-class, the event itself is much more than just a competition. The Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping also sets up a “Grand village” on the Champ de Mars with activities and animations open to all. This year, the event welcomes all public with a free access in partnership with the Marie de Paris. The «Grand Village» next to the arena is a meeting place full of new discoveries and has many free activities on offer: equestrian shows, including a show of the great Santi Serra, often referred to as the “horse whisperer” or even “master” for his talent and connection with horses, exhibitions, workshops and a pop-up equestrian booksho. Over 30,000 visitors are expected in the village that will also boast equestrian-themed shops.

Beyond the competition, a cultural and artistic venue

Coco Coupérie-Eiffel and Christophe Bonnat, owners of the Café de l’Homme, both passionate by gastronomy, put in honor the French “Art de vivre”. They will be, during the jumping, the hosts of an ephemeral culinary space signed the famous chefs Alain Ducasse and Frédéric Vardon: The Pavillon Eiffel.

The official poster of this 4th edition was designed by world-known American artist JonOne, recognized for his creativity and his ability to make his work accessible to all. The canvas he created for the occasion is between a graffiti and abstract expressionism. This artistic collaboration is part of the event’s DNA, as its founder, Virginie Coupérie-Eiffel, carefully picks a different artist to represent each edition. Two other very important guests of this 4th edition are two associations, L’Envol and FXB, both aiming at making the lives of disadvantaged children better, which the Longines Paris Eiffel Jumping is honored to support.
