STEPHAN BARCHA FIRST TIMER IN AACHEN - SECOND TIME WINNER IN THE FEINKOST KÄFER-PRIZE CLASS AT CHIO AACHEN 2025

Brazil’s Stephan de Freitas Barcha and Chevaux Hex Lup Imperio Egipcio kicked off their first weekend in Aachen with a victory on Tuesday. They had already expressed their determination to do everything possible to claim the Feinkost Käfer-Prize today. And despite his fall in the Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup yesterday, the Brazilian rider remained undeterred.

Barcha is exhibiting a slight limp after his risky fall yesterday during which he ended up between his horse’s legs. However, riding remains no problem, as he demonstrated confidently. To the rhythmic applause and cheers of the packed stadium at Aachen Soers, he and Chevaux Hex Lup Imperio Egipcio sped around the course of the speed and agility competition, navigating ditches and banks in an impressive time of 57.56 seconds. No one else managed to reach the finish line faster. The closest was the Dutch pair, Hessel Hoekstra and his eight-year-old KWPN-bred mare, Madonna, who finished in 60.75 seconds. Third place went to Irish rider Tom Wachman, riding the Dutch-bred horse I’m Here, with a time of 61.15 seconds.
