NINA MALLEVAEY NAILS THE ROLEX GRAND PRIX IN BRUSSELS
The 2025 Brussels Stephex Masters ended on a high note delivering a Rolex Grand Prix that was nothing short of a nail-biter. In a stunning display of skill, 25-year-old French sensation Nina Mallevaey and her powerful horse Dynastie de Beaufour clinched a long-awaited victory.
The competition featured 50 of the world's best riders, kicking off with a technical course that tested the mettle of even the most seasoned competitors. Designed by Gregory Bodo, the course was so challenging that only seven riders managed a clear round. The crowd held its breath as one top contender after another carried faults, until Great Britain's Harry Charles finally broke the tension with the first clear round.
The momentum then shifted as other top riders including Trevor Breen, Luciana Diniz, and one Belgian fan favourite Gregory Wathelet - followed suit - setting the stage for a dramatic second round with 12 combinations vying for the win.
In the final showdown, Harry Charles laid down a seemingly unbeatable time with a double clear.
But the young French phenom Nina Mallevaey was not to be denied.
With a performance that was both bold and precise, she guided Dynastie de Beaufour through the course with lightning speed, shaving nearly two seconds off Charles's leading time. The spectators erupted as the last rider, Gregory Wathelet, galloped to the finish line, delivering a brilliant round that, while securing a well-earned second place, just wasn't enough to catch Mallevaey.
Mallevaey's masterful ride in front of the passionate Brussels crowd marked the most significant triumph of her career, solidifying her status as a new star in the world of showjumping.
She's been consistent with great results at Rolex events this season, having been placed third at the Rolex Grand Prix of Rome, fifth at the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen and third at the Grand Prix of Dinard.
