AL DUHAMI & AL AJMI TAKE GOLD IN NEW ASIAN GAMES JUMPING FORMAT
Fans at the JRA Equestrian Park were treated to a historic feast of showjumping as the 20th Asian Games debuted a fresh format, crowning two Individual champions for the very first time alongside the Team honours.
In the Group A competition, a fast jump-off decided the medals. Qatar’s Faleh Al Ajmi and Qapella rode a clear round to take Gold. The UAE’s Abdullah Al Muhairi and Hudson De Vains picked up Silver, while Khaled Almobty and Diana Du Plevau Z finished with Bronze for Saudi Arabia.
The higher-level Group B Final, set over 1.55m jumps, saw more top results for Saudi Arabia.
The quintessential Ramzy Al Duhami steered Untouchable S to a Gold medal. They've had a perfect week with five clear rounds all together, securing a second medal following the Team win. Bassem Mohamed and Chaccball finished in second to win Silver for Qatar, while Abdulrahman Alrajhi and Lorenzo ES took the Bronze.
The new dual-title format proved a hit, giving more athletes their moment in the spotlight while showcasing sport at its finest.
