EGYPTIAN ATHLETES TAKE 1 & 2* PODIUM FINISHES WHILE SAUDI’S ABDULLAH AL SHARBATLY DOMINATES THE 4* - HH THE FATHER AMIR’S PRIX IN DOHA QATAR
The ‘HH The Father Amir’s Prix’ (2 to 4 January - CSI1* -2* - 4*) at Al Shaqab has enjoyed a highly successful opening, marking a strong start to the 2026 season in Doha.
445 horse and rider combinations are present in Doha, and while international stars like Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Alsharbatly have dominated the CSI4* qualifiers on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 January, the event has also seen an exceptional showing from Egyptian riders who have securing a string of impressive results and podium finishes in the CSI 1* and 2* classes.
On Friday, 11-year-old Yassin Khalifa secured a remarkable joint first-place finish alongside 41-year-old Olympian Ibrahim Hani Bisharat in the CSI2* class. Riding Camelija, the young talent matched the veteran’s performance to share the podium.
The Prix continues through Sunday and the next Prix will start on 7 January with a CSI 1, 3 and 5*.
