TOP SPOT FOR HARRY CHARLES AT HH THE FATHER AMIR’S PRIX IN DOHA QATAR
The opening weekend of HH The Father Amir’s Prix’ 2026 came to a thrilling close on Sunday at Al Shaqab. After three days of high-stakes competition, the first leg of the Doha Equestrian Tour wrapped up with a masterclass in precision and speed.
The spotlight was firmly on the CSI4 1.55m Grand Prix. In a tense jump-off that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats, it was Great Britain’s Harry Charles who rode to victory aboard the impressive Casquo Blue.
For Charles, the win was about more than just the trophy. It marked a perfect start to the new year and a milestone for his partnership with his horse.
"It’s a fantastic way to start the year," Charles said. "Winning the first Grand Prix of the season and achieving our first big victory together makes it very special. The course was challenging, and the tight time allowed meant we had to take real risks in the jump-off. It came down to the smallest of margins, so I’m delighted to come out on top against such a strong field."
Beyond the main event, the final day featured a packed schedule including the CSI1* and CSI2* Grand Prix classes. The prize giving was a prestigious affair, with HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani awarding the trophies to the CSI4* champions.
