EGYPTIAN EQUESTRIAN FEDERATION LAUNCHES 'EQUIEST SERVICES' TO MODERNISE SPORT & ATTRACT INVESTMENT

The Egyptian Equestrian Federation has established a new development and investment company, called Equiest Services. Fully owned by the federation, this state-backed enterprise aims to modernise the country’s equestrian sector by attracting international partners and securing commercial sponsorships.

The company will take over the organisation and marketing of major equestrian events, most notably the upcoming Longines Global Champions Tour by Pyramids. All financial returns from these projects will be reinvested directly into supporting local riders and growing the sport across the country.

The Board of Directors of Equiest Services is chaired by Dr Ismail Shaker, President of the Egyptian Equestrian Federation and Professor of Engineering at the American University in Cairo. The board also includes an leading group of economic and investment leaders:

- Mr Ahmed Sadek El Sewedy – Managing Director and CEO of Elsewedy Electric.

- Mr Khaled Mahmoud – Chairman of MTI, listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

- Mr Alaa Saba – Cofounder of BPE Partners for private equity.

- Dr Sherif El Kholy – Partner and Regional Head of Middle East and Africa at ACTIS Investment, and Board Member of United Media Services.

- Mr Maged Shawky – Chairman of Catalyst Partners, former Chairman of the Egyptian Stock Exchange, and showjumping rider.

- Mr Wael El Mahgary – Chairman of Basata for microfinance and Board Member of the African Equestrian Group.

The company’s Board of Directors will be responsible for setting the strategic vision and general policies, approving operational and investment plans, and overseeing major contracts and partnerships. They will also organise and host international championships to ensure financial sustainability, promote sports investment, and establish Egypt as a regional and international hub for equestrian sports and major sporting events.
