A SUMMARY OF THE FIRST DAY OF THE FATIMA BINT MUBARAK LADIES SPORTS ACADEMY (FBMA) INTERNATIONAL SHOW JUMPING CUP

The first day of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA) International Show Jumping Cup concluded on Friday evening with the CSIL2* category. The first round, in which 33 riders competed against the clock over hurdles of 1.20 metres, was won by Maria Gonzalez Laguillo from Spain and her horse Oman de St Maudan. With a time of 55.82 seconds, Laguillo claimed a cash prize of AED 7,500. Second place went to Christina Mari Sehested from Demark and her horse Celine, completing the course in 59.24 seconds, while third place was taken by Harley North-Bryan from Great Britain, riding Quapitola Sr Z with a time of 59.87 seconds.

 

The second round of the CSIL2* event, which was the seventh and final competition of the day, challenged riders with 1.35 metre obstacles and proved a close finish. Italian rider Noemi Oggioni and her horse Payse Heutiere took first place and AED 21,250 after completing the course in 30.18 seconds. Just four-tenths of a second behind was US national Alice Debany Clero and her horse Ameareusa S, with a time of 30.58 seconds. Danish competitor Tina Lund came in third place as she rode her horse Carisma B over the obstacles in 31.23 seconds.
