STEPHEX TEAM BRINGS THE EUROPEAN YOUTH JUMPING CHAMPIONSHIPS TO BELGIUM IN 2027

“We want to offer young riders a championship that helps them grow and dream bigger.”

Europe’s top young showjumpers can prepare for a championship on Belgian soil in 2027. The Stephex team submitted a bid to host the European Jumping Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders and received the full support of the FEI. Preparations will soon get underway, with the goal of creating a unique championship that fully supports the development of the stars of tomorrow.

AIMING FOR PERFECTION:

With top-level sports events like the Brussels Stephex Masters, the Stephex team has been attracting thousands of spectators and riders from all over the world to Belgium for years. Not just with world-class sport, but by continuously surprising visitors with spectacular innovations. From the facilities for riders, horses and grooms to the entertainment, arena design and hospitality, every detail is fine-tuned. This unique blend of sport and experience, so characteristic of Stephex events, will also give the 2027 Youth European Championships its own special flair.

INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION TO GROW AND DREAM:

The Stephex team is deeply honored by the trust placed in them by the FEI to organize such a defining championship. “We believe it’s incredibly important to inspire and support young riders in their development,” says Stephan Conter, CEO of the Stephex Group.

“Those competing at a Youth European Championship today, might be the world’s best tomorrow. We don’t just want to offer them an exciting and valuable sporting experience, we want to create lasting memories that continue to motivate them as they build their careers at the highest level.”

BELGIUM IS HOT:

Belgium’s position as a hub of international equestrian sport is evident not only in the success of our horses, riders, trainers, and companies, but also in its reputation for world-class event organization.

Glenn Maes, chairman of Paardensport Vlaanderen, explains: “In addition to being awarded the Senior European Jumping Championships in 2027, the FEI has also chosen Belgium, and more specifically Brussels, with the Stephex Group, as the organizer of the European Championships for Children, Juniors, and Young Riders.” He adds: “It will be an amazing prelude to the Senior European Championships. 2027 is set to be an absolute highlight for equestrian sport in Flanders, with these two major events. With the Stephex Group involved, we can count on top-level organization, meaning both our young talents and senior riders will enjoy world-class sport right here on home soil. We’re already looking forward to it and counting down the days with you.”

Stephan Detry, President of KBRSF - FRBSE adds: “2027 is turning into a milestone year for the Belgian equestrian scene. With the senior European Championships and the Year of the Horse already on the calendar, we can now add a third major highlight.

Stephex has built a reputation for organising some of the most stunning jumping events in the world. Welcoming Europe’s rising stars in such a refined setting will only reinforce Belgium’s standing as a leader in equestrian sport.”

Eugène Mathy, President of the Ligue Équestre Wallonie Bruxelles, also shares the enthusiasm: “Just a few weeks after the excellent news from the FEI, our country is once again being recognised as the European capital of showjumping.

That Belgium – and more specifically Waregem – has been chosen to host the FEI European Jumping Championships for Seniors in 2027 is undoubtedly a major highlight. But now, with the Youth European Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders also coming to our country, it’s clear that 2027 will truly be Belgium’s Year of the Horse. With the expertise of the Stephex team, we can be confident the future stars of showjumping will be welcomed at a championship delivered to 5-star standards.”

NOT TO BE MISSED:

The European Youth Jumping Championships are expected to take place in July 2027. Be sure to keep an eye on the Stephex channels to be the first to know the official date and location.

Can’t wait? Then don’t miss Brussels Stephex Masters from 27 to 31 August 2025 in Wolvertem, one of the most spectacular events on the international 5* jumping calendar. The world’s top riders will be there, and you should be too!
