SHOWJUMPING AT XX MEDITERRANEAN GAMES 2026
The 20th Mediterranean Games are officially underway, bringing together top athletes from across Europe, Africa, and Asia to showcase top competitive sport.
The Games will take place from 21 August – 3 September 2026, in Taranto, Italy.
Amongst the diverse line up of disciplines taking centre stage, showjumping stands out as a highlight, featuring horse-and-rider combinations competing for Individual and Team medals.

Egypt has a decorated history in equestrian jumping at the Games;
- in 2022 in Oran - Algeria, Individual Bronze was won by Mohamed Talaat on Darshan, while the Team won Silver.
- in 2018 in Tarragona - Spain, Individual Bronze was won by Abdel Saïd on Hope van Scherpen Donder.
- in 2005 in Almería - Spain, Individual Bronze was won by Karim El Zoghby on Amelia.
- in 1987 in Latakia- Syria, Individual Bronze was won by Dr. Mohamed El Sheribini on Madison, while the Team won Gold.
