NICOLA KERBYSON, Equine Veterinary Journal
Nicola is currently undertaking a PhD in equine gastrointestinal disease at the University of Glasgow. Prior to this she worked in equine practice for 7 years, including a period of time in a referral hospital. During this time she worked mostly with non-racing performance horses, with most weekends spent undertaking work for British Eventing, local point to points or working as a racetrack vet. She holds the RCVS certificate in advanced veterinary practice in equine medicine. Particular areas of interest include colic, parasitology and the dissemination of relevant research to clinicians and horse owners. She is the clinical practice member of the Equine Veterinary Journal editorial board and regularly summarises recent publications for vets in practice. She has spoken at numerous conferences including the USDF convention, AAEP, ACVIM and BEVA colic symposium.
